A New Chapter for my Vintage inspired clothing label in Newcastle

Hello there Darlings,
It’s been a while, and I have so much to share! I’ve never gotten the hang of blogs and newsletters so I’m trying something new and writing this like a letter to a dear friend. Grab a coffee (or maybe a glass of wine?) and get comfy — there’s a lot to catch up on!
The End of an Era: Saying Goodbye to the Boutique
If you haven’t seen my Instagram lately, you may not know that I had to say goodbye to the boutique at 289 Hunter Street last October. It was a huge loss, and while I had to part ways with my incredible team due to cash flow struggles, I’m beyond grateful for the time we shared. Every one of them is a dear friend and it somehow things seemed like this was meant to be as they were all shifting to new chapters of their own story
Closing the shop wasn’t easy, and I felt like I was failing — not only as a business owner but also as a mum and wife. The stress, exhaustion, and anxiety took a toll on my mental health. But after a much-needed break, I’m ready to embrace the next chapter of my business, with a renewed focus on creating ethical, sustainable designs to bring joy to the wardrobes of creative , beautiful souls like you.
A Fresh Start: Vintage-Inspired Clothing, Back in Newcastle
So, where am I now? The truth is, I’m still processing the loss of the boutique, but I’m embracing the journey ahead. I’m working on slowing down, taking care of myself, and coming back to creating vintage-inspired pieces that truly speak to my heart and soul. As a small business owner and creative with a fresh diagnosis of AuDHD, I’m learning to pace myself and give my best without burning out.
In alignment with this I’m thrilled to announce that my handmade designs and ethically manufactured creations are available in a new collaborative space in Newcastle — the beautiful & Friends Store. This space is all about promoting local artisans and creators, and I couldn’t be more excited to be part of such a wonderful community.
Visit & Friends Store for Locally Made, Sustainable Fashion
If you’re in Newcastle, I’d love for you to visit the store and see my designs in person. There’s no pressure to shop — just a cozy place to explore locally made clothing, accessories and homewares , try things on, and experience the beauty of ethical and sustainable vintage clothing.
Stay Connected with My Journey
Thank you so much for being a part of my journey. I can’t wait to share more with you, whether it’s on Instagram or in person at & Friends Store. If you're looking for something unique, timeless, and ethically made, I hope you'll stop by and see what I have to offer.
- With lots of Love Bree-Lacey xx
